Any recommendations? Approx £400 budget. Dh insists on wood, I am open minded..

I built my own and don't recommend that option if you like your sanity Grin

we have snowdrop cottage

it is great but wish we had bought
this instead. it has a bit more active play space downstairs.

Ah, thankyou. Dh has found a fairly local co and they will build it for you for £50. Which is cheaper than the divorce we'd end up getting if we tried to do it ourselves.

In retrospect, I wish we'd built a small garden shed and prettied it up with fake eaves etc. It would have lasted longer as a playhouse (most don't have enough headroom) and then when finally outgrown we'd have had a shed. Grin

Grimma, great idea, but that implies a level of DIY competency sadly lacking in our house.

But seriously - don't know how old your DC are, playhouses are usually aquired for tots... try to imagine how big they'll be in a few years time when choosing. And one you can get in yourself without injury is helpful!

stainesmassif · 24/02/2012 00:22

Well they are three and one plus I've just regged as a cm, so I can see we'd get some value out of it.

Oh, if you're going to be a cm then it should have a longer life. Some of these playhouses are so lovely, its quite sad when the DC outgrow them.

I find everything sad when the dc outgrow them. Am just struggling to get rid of 5 million 0-3 mth vests.

Just to add with regard to how long they last, we got one for DS1's 3rd birthday he is 8 in a couple of weeks time and it is still very much in use. He and his mates hang out in there to swap pokemon cards and make general mischief.
