I'm not actually a Mum but am a life parent (god parent) and was wondering if anyone could help me with the following: I am really worried about buying my god child a gift in case it's dangerous or unsafe - you know it cuts them or they choke or somthing. It really worries me when it says chooking hazard ont he box. So far I've kept to really simple things like blankets and clothes but am I worrying unnecessarily and what do you recommend? I don't usually worry about stuff like this but I know her mum (my friend) does

Cheers

How old is the child?

LIZS · 13/02/2011 20:50

Buy age appropriate toys, with a bs mark on and not from cheap market stalls/tansient pound shops.

Agree - stick to age appropriate toys, and don't be offended if your friend puts something away sometimes until your god child gets a bit older.

All good advice above - I sometimes feel unsure about getting toys for mine but recently came across this article and am going to stick by these suggestions:

Hhahhhaaaaa, you're joking right?

Oh, you're not.

Yep, follow the age guidelines on the toy and then supervise your life child at all times.
