How jumpy is a jumperoo?

I'm looking on ebay for something to keep my 5 1/2 month old entertained (he loves his door bouncer and Tripp Trapp but loathes his playmat - always wants to be upright but can't sit unsupported yet). We had a playnest thing, but DS1 sat on it and it burst Angry. Thinking of a jumperoo or activity centre. Leaning towards a jumperoo (partly because there's a cheap one for sale very nearby Grin), but wondered just how bouncy they are? I'd like something that DS2 can sit still in and play with toys, as well as just bouncing up and down.

Hi
They actually aren't that jumpy. Certainly not nearly as bouncy as a door bouncer.
My DS never really took to it and we found the leap frog activity station to be a god send!

However I do know that friends DC loved the jumperoo.

They are only as bouncy as the child wants them to be - they control the bouncing.

DD had a Jumperoo when younger and loved it. Sometimes she bounced, sometimes she didn't, but she could spend ages in it without being upset/bored (as far as I could tell).

Was fantastic when I was trying to prepare meals and needed hands-free time.

Depends on which jumparoo you get. Fisherprice have a plastic jumparoo £80 and is not jumpy at all. Child sits astride a hard plastic saddle thing.

Fisherprice also have a rainforest (or precious planet) jumparoo £89 which is much bigger has a metal frame and child sits in a cloth nappy style seat. This is super jumpy. My DS would bounce in this all day if I let him (but not recommended). I would say it is a jumpy as the lindam door bouncer.

Gumtree usually have them for £40ish second hand, but they go quick.

My lovely neighbour leant me that rainforest one, it was a godsend. Definitely look for a second-hand one if you can!

They have various rattles & toys around the outside (and you can clip extra toys on using those pram loop things) so not just for bouncing.

DS had the rainforest one. Sometimes he would just play with the toys and sometimes he bounced like he was on a trampoline :) It was hilarious watching him.

He couldn't sit unsupported until 9 months despite crawling at 8, so it was a godsend :)

We had the rainforest one. Would highly recommend, DS loved it and I got some jobs done. Tune not too annoying either

I got one for DD for Xmas when she was 6 months old. 90 shiny pounds and five minutes later, she's out of it again and will not go back in. Aaargh!!!!! They aren't too bouncy and other people's sane babies seem to really like them. Maybe see if you can borrow one first off?
