Ozempic - stalled and considering mixing the doses up a little?

Just that really - I have been on a plateau for 3/4 months now and the weight has started creeping up again. Am wondering if I could try and kickstart things again by upping my dose - perhaps a cycle of 2g, 1g, 1g, 0g. Has anyone tried this and restarted their weight loss? Thanks.

Hi @JabberLass I noticed your post hadn't got any responses, and wondered whether you'd be better off posting on the Weight Loss Injections/Treatments board, and mention Wegovy in your title rather than or as well as Ozempic?

In general with GLP1s for weight loss, if you are plateaued for that sort of time then upping your dose is sensible thing to do. No need to do any kind of up and down cycle, just up your dose and see if the weight loss resumes. Assuming you are able to up your dose? Given you're using Ozempic I guess you're maybe not in the UK, or maybe being prescribed it for diabetes control rather than weight loss? The doses you mention, assuming you mean 2mg, 1mg and 0.5mg are not the same dose levels as for Wegovy for weight loss which are 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.7, 2.4 and 7.2mg.

Ahh, thanks for this re. If I tag @mumsnet maybe they can move it for me to get more traffic.
You’re right - I am not in the uk and it is prescribed for medical, not weight loss reasons. It would be dishonest not to admit that the weight loss has been a wonderful byproduct though and I would like it to continue!
I didn’t realise that Ozempic outed me as a non uk resident - here it is only prescribed for “other” reasons. I wanted to “play” with the doses for financial reasons but I might ask my endocrinologist to increase the dose next time I see her. Thanks for your advice, much appreciated.

Ozempic is a brand name for semaglutide. It’s Wegovy in the U.K.
