I need some advice.on coparenting.
myself and coparent and currently at court with a consent order application for every other weekend and shared holidays as the kids have started school and need structure. Coparent does shifts that change all the time and it was a very long travel to school for 2 children under 5 and professionals involved in their care as they are SEN advised this would be too much for them.
I am offering dad extra time, extra weekends if he can get them and even take them for tea with the expenses paid. He told me he couldn’t afford extra maintenance which is why he didn’t want to drop his weekly overnights so I told him I would not apply for more.
I get constant messages about how 12 days away is too long and he is struggling but he doesn’t use days off or half days to come through and see them, how much he’s hurting and I wouldn’t know what it feels like.. but I’m literally giving the opportunity of extra time. He had a day off last week and dropped himself in it on the parenting app and said “it isn’t set in stone I come through every single week” and then attempts to drop them off early for overtime opportunities, but then tells me how much it’s hurting him being away from them.
he also didn’t engage with cafcass which was so frustrating. I’m actually at my wits end.
can someone please shed some light? I’m mentally exhausted. Should I mention this at the hearing?
