Driven mad by fruit flies

Horrible horrible fruit flies. For weeks.
I’ve gotten rid of indoor plants that seemed to be where they lived. Fruit bowl now in the fridge (not ideal) and no flowers. Changing bins daily.

I hate the super chemical smelling spray and can’t imagine it’s good to breath in, but I’ve tried it a few times. Not working.
Anyone able to help me with how to get rid of them.

Put an inch of vinegar in an empty jar or tumbler. Cover tightly with cling film then use a cocktail stick to make 3 or 4 holes in the cling film. Leave it near to where the fruit flies gather. It’s brilliant!

The fruit flies find their way through the holes to get the vinegar and then they can’t get out again.

Try boiling water down the sinks, that seemed to be a source of them here a couple of times.

This kind of thing in your fruit bowl. It takes a few days, and it’s pretty disgusting, but will get rid of them. Works quickly than the vinegar in jam jar approach in my experience.

Yes this, i use malt vinegar in mine just in a tub near my sink, yes you still get them but they are congregating in one spot. Also make sure any jars and bottles in your cupboards have no spills and your shelves are also clear of spills, they are a nuisance though but I am getting less now.
