Should I buy bright cushions to help stage the house sale?

House getting photographed to be sold next week. My living room is looking pretty drab.

I have a slightly sagging looking two-seater cream sofa that was once £3k and I got as a gift.

Shall I invest in some lovely bright cushions for the sofa? Really bold floral ones?

I feel it would brighten the place up a bit. There is a local shop selling them for £30 each on sale. Would i need 2 or 4?

DH is against the idea. I have already spent £2.3k sprucing the place up with a painter and buying more plants and he thinks it's a waste.

No. Leave it be, unless you personally love the cushions and will use them at your next home.

I wouldn't spend £120 on cushions to spruce up a home I was selling. They're not buying your sofa. If you have to, go to Matalan or Tesco etc and get a couple of large ones.

Why would a cushion help sell a house? It’s not part of the sale.

Not if they’re not going to be forever items. Too much money. You can get nice plain cushions in a colour to tone with other stuff for a fiver in many places. What about a throw?

A tidy bedroom isn’t included in the sale either but I still think people should make their bed before estate agent pictures.

yes i love these cushions and would like them in my new home, but could only justify the payment to jazz up for a sale.

Buy them then! I was going to say 'Yes, buy some bright cushions, but probably a plain colour and go to Asda or B&M where they will be cheaper',

If these are cushions you love go buy them. DH is wrong, if they will be used in your new home 😁

Then it is buying cushions you love for now and new house .whuch presumably will cost a lot more than a few cushions

if i had longer i would probably get slightly different ones, every now and then i come across one I LOVE and these i just really like

any idea where i can get bright colour cushions cheaper?

Dunelm, supermarkets, B&M. Loads of places!
