Essex Council is employing security guards to make W & G feel safer. There are undocumented male migrants living in old army accommodation and these guys can get a free minibus (out of 17 available) into the town centres at will.
Guards will be placed at Braintree, Colchester, and Chelmsford.
At least one council is being proactive !

I’m still unclear why they need to leave the camp - undocumented migrants should be detained, I.e. not roaming towns at will.

Security guards wouldn’t make me feel less uncomfortable about being stared at or harassed.

It’s not just women and girls that are affected. Shopkeepers in Braintree are in despair. I know someone who volunteered there to teach English but not for long when she realised the mindset of the men at Wethersfield. Such a shame for the village as houses are unsellable.

I agree with what you say.
IMO they should be kept in secure accommodation. However, I understand it's 'against their human rights' to keep them locked up when they haven't committed a crime.🙄

I hope the good voters of Braintree are giving their MP a hard time over this ?
Apparently the Reform Council are footing the bill but IMO it should be the Home Office who has failed spectacularly at keeping them out of /deporting them from UK
