I’ve been kicked out of my doctors surgery!

I haven’t moved house for 20 years. Been registered at the same doctors surgery for 18 of those years. The surgery hasn’t moved premises.
The only thing that has changed is the number of new build houses that are being built between where I live and the doctors surgery.
Why should it be me that has to find a new doctor rather than the people buying the new houses? Why are they not building extra facilities to cope with additional people?

Apparently I am outside the boundary of a doctor who is 2 miles away, but within the boundary of a surgery 5 miles away??

The nearest surgery to me opens 4 hours a day for 3 days a week…the same 3 days that I am 15 miles away at work.

The only surgery I could possibly move to is the one 5 miles away, which is extremely awkward to get to due to heavy traffic, I would need to leave at least 45 minutes before the appointment time as it regularly take 30 minutes to drive into this town, then I would need time to try to find parking on the extremely small car park, give up, and park on the pay and display 10 minutes walk away.

Also there are regular complaints about having to wait over 10 days for an appointment because the receptionists decide you are not eligible for a same day appointment.

I know there is nothing I can do about it, but I am so mad at the moment having just read the letter telling me I won’t have a doctor this time next month through no fault of my own!

And 2 people I know have had to self-fund, because they were no longer able to wait for NHS treatment. Medical care rationed by years of waiting in pain isn't 'universally available' in reality.

Wes Streeting's scheme paid doctors £33 for each patient they 'cleaned up' from the waiting list: a trick the Conservatives rejected because it reduces time available for actual patient care when the time is taken for admin.

Patients have died as a result of another Labour initiative to pay doctors not to refer patients but instead get advice... oh and coincidentally cut NHS waiting lists by two million.

I'm my 28 years, the NHS has only ever been properly supported by Labour.

NHS spending has increased in real terms per person every single year.

The NHS claims to be underfunded because the rate of increase isn't going up . Ie it's going up, but not ever-faster.

You know that spending an ever-faster-increasing percentage of the GDP on health isn't sustainable, right?

Ikm trying to register at a new GP’s due to moving miles away. They want proof of address but I have nothing! I’ll have to wait til I get a council tax bill or something, I guess.

I agree, and while your at it, ask them how they can manage to provide a wrap around medical and dental service for people who have just rocked up on boats, when their own constituents are pushed to the back of the queue.
The more complaints they get the better.
Every little helps as they say.

I dread this happening to me. I have been with my surgery for 30 years and they are really good. There are 8 completed new housing developments within walking distance and 2 high rise blocks planned at the end of my street. I really worry about the catchment area being changed. There is a surgery slightly nearer to my home but they are reputed to be very poor.

Continuity of care is very important, and the repore between patients and doctors etc. equally so. Please please complain.
