How many children and which sexes did you hope for?

How many kids did you want and what genders? And what did you end up getting?

My dad wanted 5 boys. My mum wanted 1 girl. Got two girls and a boy.

I want a girl and a boy and am TTC my first!

i always said I didn’t want children, then fell in love and married a man with 2 girls (I came on the scene long after the separation). I grow very found of the girls had 50/50 and 2 years after getting married fell pregnant with my son. DH’s ex died and the girls had come to live with us just before he was born. I was happy with 2 girls and a boy. Went sort of fell in love with being a mum, so went on to have another son and a daughter.

never really cared what I had. But happy with the mix I was given.

Always sort of presumed I’d have two, as I’m one of two. Slight preference for a boy first as I wanted an older brother, but obviously no strong feelings about it. As soon as my eldest was born I changed my mind and wanted four.

Currently have three (boy, girl, boy) and would love one more - wouldn’t have any preference on the sex.

im happy with my family but I’d have loved to give my daughter a sister because I think she’d have loved it - I have a sister and we are really close

Wanted 4. Hope for a B/G mix.
Have 2 but also 5 MCs. No more, heart can't take more loss.

I wanted 2 girls and got 2 girls. If I was to go for a third I’d love to have a boy.

I wanted two girls exactly 2 years apart. Lots of ivf and I have 2 girls but 10 years apart. I find it difficult I never got to have the family the way I planned. And would do anythhh for another now so they are close in age but we don’t have thw money for more ivf

When I was young I wanted 4, 2 of each. Turns out I hate being pregnant ( hyperemesis, anemia) and am crap at choosing men so after two pregnancies I have three girls ( twins involved ) from two failed relationships and I couldn't be happier with my lot.

Two, ideally boys, MAYBE if the first two were both boys then another one to get a third boy and have a whole gaggle of boys. Probably wouldn't have a third if I had two girls as it sounded like a lot of estrogen in the house if the third was also a girl.

In reality, had two girls and am days away from baby number 3, who I’m hoping is a girl 🙈

All that to say, I didn’t ever really mind! The main reason I wanted boys was that they seemed to be the unwanted sex for most women so I was more than happy for the universe to give me boys!

Wanted 4 and had 3 and a late miscarriage. I didn’t have a preference and ended up with 2 boys and a girl.

I wanted 6 boys, got 2 children, both boys.

I wanted all girls as I grew up with 4 brothers. I had two boys and 2 girls. Wouldnt change it now though.

I was desperate for a girl, not totally sure why but I really wanted at least one daughter.

I had a boy followed by a girl. I’m so glad I had ds though as he is really lovely and i know a second boy would have been as well.

I only ever wanted a boy and that’s what I got.

Hated having a brother, so wanted one girl, which is precisely what I got. I'm sure I'd have loved a boy, but I'm very relieved I never had to find out.

Wanted three, a boy and two girls. Have two boys and will soon be trying for a third and hoping for a girl
