Think my ex partner may have sent me an anonymous email pretending to have seen an explicit recording of me

I’m gutted. There’s two possibilities. Either it’s my ex partner trying to scare me or he has shared a video of me and someone has seen it and emailed me. Have reported the email to the police. They’ve taken an initial report but will follow up for a statement and I don’t know what to do.

You've done the right thing going to the police. If you suspect your ex then I'd say you're right. What a vile thing to do.

@Minimeenythank you for asking. On holiday with family and feel quite remote from it but every now and then I remember and feel quite sick.

The police have indicated they haven’t heard back when they emailed the address I got the message from and they would need pointers from me to investigate. I haven’t given them ex partner’s details. I’m praying he hasn’t shared anything and the email was an attempt to scare me.

I guess I’ll never know.
