Is this extreme people pleasing?

Would love some advice about this situation and just wondering if it’s extreme people pleasing or entirely normal.

I work in a friendly team. Most is us have known each other for years and when we get new people in the team, they usually settle quickly. A woman joined the team a few months ago. She was nice and friendly to begin with but now some of her recent behaviour just seems a bit over the top and it’s starting to drive me up the wall. Some examples:

  1. When we’re having conversations, even 1-1 conversations in the office, she inserts herself into every single one and asks us a million questions. Even personal intrusive ones.
  2. If she sees me or one of our colleagues in the building she waves like crazy at us even when we’ve been sat with her most of the day
  3. We have a few socials a month and now she has volunteered herself to organise them all but the weird thing is that every time someone has an idea she’s all in on it so plans change regularly.
  4. When new and exciting things come up she volunteers herself immediately and doesn’t give anyone else a chance to even try. It’s like pick me, pick me, me, me, me.

Is this perfectly normal behaviour?

It would annoy me too.Could be insecurity or could be control.
If you want to arrange something, just be assertive and say no you've done lots already, time for the rest of us to do our bit.
Be nice but firm.

thats nothing like people pleasing.

she just sounds annoying. Could one of you take her aside and speak about it diplomatically?

Why would this be considered people pleasing? She’s just very enthusiastic and wanting to be seen/ valued I’d guess. Maybe misguided but still
