I’d like some ideas of gifts I can get someone to say “thank you for taking my child to school every day” as my daughter has been taken to school by her friends mum for the last two months whilst I’ve been in hospital overcoming some health issues.

I really want to show my appreciation but I don’t know the lady very well at all. She is around my age, mid 30s and has a very beautiful home. I was thinking maybe something modern/chic for her home but it feels like it can be easily wrong. Flowers don’t feel like enough. A gift card feels a bit lazy. Maybe I’m overthinking.

Any ideas?

I don't think a gift card/vouchers is lazy at all - it lets people choose their own things rather than be given something they don't like/already have. You can pop it in a card and make the sentiment in the card very personal.

I would send her flowers and a personalised card and a little gift from somewhere like Bunches.co.uk - they also do lovely houseplants, and you can add chocolates/cake/wine to be delivered at the same time.
