Allocated parking on the side of the terrace - suddenly neighbours are using it

We moved here ten years ago. The property came with an allocated parking on the side of the terrace.
No issues until this year when suddenly our neighbours said they have a parking space there too and need to start using it now because street parking gets harder. Turns out they have the same space as ours on their deed!?

Another neighbour, who lived here the longest, said there is/ was space for everyone but one of the current owners who has two spaces needs to take less space and not park their van there, as it was originally intended for cars only. So if we all squish in to how it was intended we will have spaces.
We don’t know who spoke to whom to try and sort this but suddenly people are parking (partially) in our space, thr van guy is taking up even more space, (new) people are swapping randomly, and because of the uncertainty of the exact lines of our space now, we are not sure how to claim it back.

What would you do to sort this mess out? Not sure it’s up to us to speak to people, we are happy to carry on doing what we were doing or squish to let another car in, but ultimately just want our private parking to be ours only. Please, advise!

Well clearly someone's deeds are wrong. Have you actually seen the neighbours deeds? Suggest land registry as a starting point to check them yourselves

Apparently dh and neighbour compared photos of the documents and it is the same photo - space outlined in red with the same number on it.
The other problem is the spaces seem to have moved boundaries to make the first two wider (van user), which has knock on effect on the rest. Even if we have another confirmation from land register, not sure we can pinpoint or prove the lines, so the rest of the neighbours move on and there is room for everyone.

Perhaps you and the neighbour could email the Land Registry and ask their advice?
