We viewed a beautiful house on Monday evening at 6pm. The person who showed us round was the sister of the estate agent ( independent) and said any questions you would need to contact her sister.
The next day I asked two questions the sister could not answer and that we would like to put an offer in the property. She did not reply to my email and the next day I rang her and sent another message explaining that we would like to put an offer in.

We have still not heard from the estate agent and have seen that it is now SOLD stc.

I’m upset with the lack of communication, it would have been nice for her to say it’s now been sold.
I can’t complain as she is an independent estate agent but can see she has Google reviews which I’m reluctant to complain on.

Just wanted to vent as we’ve been house viewing for a while.

Same happened to us. Never heard back even when I called and left messages and emails. Absolutely awful. I agree put a note through the door. Turned out in our case another estate agent in that branch purchased said property. Best of luck to you

Update for everyone.

A different property went on the market on the Saturday and I called up Monday morning to view it. Apparently there were no viewings left and the phone line went off the hook for it.

We eventually got a viewing on the Wednesday and I couldn’t believe the amount of space for the price. It was an offers over so we put in 5k extra and this evening got the call to say they’ve accepted our offer !!!

We actually didn’t think our offer would be accepted and it is actually 20k less than last weeks property.

So pleased and thankful for this thread as I made it very clear we wanted to offer and was interested.

Yay. All us Mumsnetters are happy for you.

Well done.

Now just keep on top of your solicitor and chase chase chase things along.

X

That is fantastic news. You made a good decision brilliant. Now think what you could do with that 20 K.

Glad to hear you found somewhere even better. Hope the sale goes through smoothly and quickly for you.
