DD, who is currently in yr10 is interested in politics and economics, and would like to study law too.

I was just wondering if anyone has had an experience of either Ipswich School or Woodbridge School for their sixth formers…
would love to hear your experiences

Go to Suffolk New College, they do a lot there. Worth a look.

I live between the two towns and don't rate either personally. That said i have no personal experience, just reports from friends who feel that their children weren't well served by either school (some academically others pastorally.) WS is brilliant for drama, though.
My 3 young adults all achieved A*/A grades at local comp sixth form & went on to RG universities where they had independent study skills that many of their private school peers hadn't yet developed. In that part of Suffolk Northgate, Farlingaye and Copleston are all good and your child will likely get a contextual offer if applying from state school. Eldest dtr says major difference between her sixth form and IS/WS is "the private school kids took ketamine but it was mainly weed at my school." For context she's now 25 so that's not a recent report!
I wish you and your offspring good luck with whatever you decide.
