Capri island boat tour Vs Amalfi Coast tour

Group of 9 of us.

Trying to decide between going to Capri via private boat for the day (includes sailing around the island and stop off), OR a boat ride along the Amalfi coast.

My main question is… all the Amalfi coast pretty coloured towns… do you see similar going around Capri?

Not enough time to do both, so try to help us decide between the two.

I have not been, but I have been watching A taste for murder. That's set in Capri and it looks fabulous.

Went to Capri from Naples for the day last year. Biggest tourist trap I’ve ever been in. Teeming with visitors. Would not recommend.

I've done both.

If you only have time to experience one, I would definitely choose the boat ride along the Amalfi coastline.

Bellissimo!

If your route is Sorrento to Positano - you will never forget it - or regret it!

You won't see the same around Capri (mainly cliffs and caves) but you will also gain the opportunity to visit the Blue Grotto. To do this you need to transfer into small wooden boats and lie down for part of it. I imagine being a group of 9, you would have to split yourselves into parties of 3 (so 3 wooden boats).

The choice is yours! 🥰

Get the boat along the Amalfi coast. It’s the best way to see the villages.
As others have mentioned, once you are on Capri it is very touristy. You do get a great view from the top of the chairlift but that’s about it.

Yes. Great views from the top of the chairlift on Capri. No guarantee you can visit the Blue Grotto. That is totally weather dependent.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like the trip along the coast is a winner!

I would highly recommend the Capri boat trip, it’s magical!

I’ve not been to either but a good friend always says how amazing the Amalfi coast is! Star

It’s on my list of places to visit in the future!

Capri is breathtaking do that

I've been to the Amalfi coast and Capri many times. I don't think you can go wrong whichever you choose. Are you just sailing along the Amalfi coast? Will you have time to stop off? Its a tough choice but I think I'd choose a trip along the coast rather than Capri.
