Do light therapy face masks help with acne or are they just a fad?

My 17 year old daughter struggles with acne. We have gone down the dermatologist route and she had a course of antibiotics for 6 months, this helped but did not solve the problem. As 6 months is the max period allowed on this we had to stop and her acne is returning to previous state. She is desperate for a solution and I keep seeing adverts for these light face masks that claim to fix all things skin related. Does anyone have any experience with these? Do they work for acne? Any recommended brands?

She needs a dermatology referral and either the contraceptive pill, spironolactone, or accutane. All will be better treatments for acne than a light mask which has very few studies on how well they work.
If her acne is bad enough for antibiotics she needs proper medical treatment for it.
