Just wondered how much would be too much in your household, before you became uncomfortable about it.

A bottle of vodka in their room each night would be a big worry. A few beers not so much. We really need a clue here?

If its every day, more than a couple of beers. If once or twice a week, more than 4 or 5 drinks.

But then I grew up in the 80s and 90s so probs not a great person to ask

Every day would be a problem for me. I’d probably start to worry if it was more than once or twice a week. I’d be very vigilant if there was a history of alcoholism in the family on any side. There is an excellent book for anyone interested called ‘understanding alcohol’ - for anyone who is struggling with alcohol or close to someone who is.

From the way your post is worded OP it sounds as though his behaviour when drinking is impacting home life. Does he behave in an unacceptable way when he uses alchohol?
Or is it just concern for his welfare because of the amount he is drinking?

How long is a piece of string? Even a couple of beers could be problematic if their behaviour is changing/affecting others in the household or they can’t go without. Depends what they’re drinking, how much, how they’re drinking (socially or hiding it/holed up in their room) etc.
