When did you feel ready for visitors after a caesarean birth?

when did you have people visit you after birth?

I live at the opposite end of the UK to half my family and on a different continent to the other half. All very keen to see the new baby and want to be here a week.

Having a c section. Did you have guests at the hospital? Or did you want none for the first week?

I only wanted my Mum while I was in hospital, I was emotionally and physically in a complete state. Once home happy for close family to visit but they were providing practical help and not staying over.

Visitors and visiting hours might be limited. I was only in one night and went home the best afternoon so I don't really think there would be time for visitors in hospital unless you wanted them all there immediately after birth and potentially having to swap with your partner.

If this is your first child you also don't know how you will feel e.g. emotionally and also about things like breastfeeding in front of people.
If you have people making special arrangements to come and visit then I would put them off until the baby is about a month old so you have recovered more and are settled into the routine. It sounds rather full on that you already have people wanting to take a week to come and see you and this could be over bearing, especially if you have to host their visits (making drinks, offering food).
