I wash whites separately with bio
powder at 60, I use a Glowhite sachet and I spray Pink Stuff stain remover on the bottom of socks. They come out gleaming white!

Bio detergent, 40 degrees, laundry bleach, wash whites separately.

We wash whites separately with oxy white stuff.

By the end of a term they look grubby though. I usually buy new sets for the summer term which can then be hidden in the winter under trousers!

Mum of two now adult boys here. Honestly, buy cheap white socks and chuck them when they go grey.

Over the years I have tried everything. Powders, whiteners, boosters, soaking in this, that and the other. Nothing really works. When you consider the cost of all of these products plus the electricity and hot water used not to mention all those chemicals going into the water, I think it is actually financially and environmentally cheaper to recycle them and buy new.
