Feeling Alone

I’m married, no biological children but there’s adult stepchildren.

I’m childfree by choice and a lot of my friends have children. I can’t help but feel alone.

There’s a natural drift from childfree people for those who have children. Another friend and also my cousin have announced pregnancies, making me the only one in my family who didn’t have children.

I’ve got 2 friends that don’t have children but neither does their husband so it feels like they are a unit, whereas I feel adrift and alone with no one that has the same situation as me.

Not sure what I’m after here, just offloading I guess.

I hear you @LilWils17 . When I was younger we were friends with two other couples who both had children. When it was just the women getting together I often felt left, sometimes pushed, out when they'd talk children stuff and they'd even walk away together away from me because what could I add to their special conversation (that's how it felt that time).

I slightly distanced myself. I still remained friends with them but kept part of me back so I wouldn't feel so hurt when I wasn't part of the kiddy club.
