Nosy new neighbour

Hi, new neighbours have moved in. Whilst eating dinner, I saw the new neighbour poke his head over our shared fence and take a photo of our garden. The neighbour saw me through the window and quickly looked away. I have been trying to grow bushes for years but it is on a steep slope. What would you do? Thanks

Have you met the new neighbours, OP?

Well that's definitely odd behaviour but I guess there could be a logical reason. I'd be inclined to go around and introduce yourself, be super nice. If additional privacy is necessary, how about a trellis on top of the fence? Awning attached to your house? Small trees?

Maybe they want their garden to look similar to yours? I wouldn’t worry at this stage.

Go round, introduce yourself and ask why?

That was rude of him. I bet he was embarrassed he got seen. I'd put up some trellis on top of the fence and grow some clematis.

Do you have a nicely cultivated garden OP? Maybe he was getting ideas for his own?

That's strange! But PP are right - I'd go round, be nice, introduce myself and ask why they took a photo! If nothing else it may stop further pics.
