Travel Insurance - Scabies

It seems that I have scabies.

DS diagnosed mid March. I was also treated via pharmacy, but only experiencing itching/spots in the last week.

Prescribed Permethrin again today and will use Dermac as second treatment next week.

I have a holiday booked for 6 weeks time.

Would my travel insurance normally cover this?

If so, the issue I have is that I completely forgot to declare the use of Permethrin back in March. Was completely honest about vitamin deficiency tablets I’d been prescribed, but this just slipped my mind.

Will that invalidate any claim that I might have been able to make?

I would phone and tell them now. They can refuse to pay out for any reason but if you phone them now they can adjust your policy. I can't imagine they'd cancel it or add a premium but if something major happened when you were away they could in theory refuse to pay out.

Thanks for replying.

I meant would they let me cancel and claim for my holiday?

I can’t risk infecting my friends and I’m quite sure TUI don’t want scabies in their hotel.

If you didn’t declare the permethrin they may deny your claim as you haven’t been honest and now have a case of scabies that you want to cancel a holiday for.
