Is anyone as ill as I feel today ? The virus from nowhere ….

Just wanting to know if anyone is being struck down overnight with the horrible nausea and shivering and stiff neck and headache ?? Before I go self diagnosing myself with something really bad, is anyone feeling the same? I was fine yesterday but woke today with every joint in my body aching and the nausea is threatening to over whelm.
Everyone else in the house is course of perfectly well…. Is it going to write off my bank holiday weekend ?

Sympathies … Currently shivering in bed - with a hot head. And Olympic level sunshine mocking me at the window.

I have been out in crowds quite a lot in the past week, so 🤷‍♀️.

I think I might have made one very crowded train journey too many this week as well… infuriations all round …. Wish you well and hoping it’s brief ….

My ds had similar back in Feb.

he actually went into shock in effect and collapsed with extreme low BP and an anoxic seizure. His infection markers were off the scale and he was initially admitted to hospital with suspected sepsis.

Literally knocked him out 😂

3-4 weeks in (sorry), just when I think I’m over it, the bastard comes back again! I WFH, my husband is retired but does do food shopping and he’s had it, now pretty much recovered, and I’m blaming him!!! 🤣

I honestly have no idea how my smallish nose produces so much snot! 🤢 The nausea that comes with it is very frustrating too.

So, from the sound of it I’m not going to be using my ticket to The Devil Wears Prada 2, tomorrow evening? Will just have to entertain myself with all the TV I haven’t bothered with during the lovely weather. Head too stuffed to read anything beyond MN …

Thanks All...what a misery....I have no fever ( yet) just the endless shivery sensitive skin, zero appetite and aching head and am walking like I need a zimmer frame...of course have got so much arranged this weekend...will see if any imp tommorow and if not - will have to cancel the lot.. so so bregrudging when the weather is for once - good ..

Got the painful throat, headache, achy, shivers/heat-a lot of it round here right now.

Yes I was ill like this last week. Cough, phlegm, fever etc. my LB was unwell the week before and I caught whatever he had. Mine has now turned into sinusitis. If you are snotty and feel sick, it's the post nasal drip aggravating your stomach - grim.

@KittyberryI hope you start feeling better soon. It sounds miserable.
@itsgettingweirdMy DS was in hospital with a virus last week too. He had a terrible headache, stiff neck and temperature and his blood results really alarmed the A&E staff. They thought it could be bacterial meningitis or encephalitis. Spinal tap said that it wasn’t bacterial but he had 4 nights in hospital last week and is still feeling quite poorly. Has now developed a bad sore throat so this virus seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. How long did it take your son to recover?

@Kittyberry I forgot to mention that my DS was very nauseous as well. Make sure your family keep an eye on you and try to keep well hydrated.

i’ve had a stiff and painful neck with awful headaches. No shivers but temperature was slightly raised.Also have a dry cough which is relentless once it starts. I actually coughed until I was sick.Felt my neck was pulsating with feeling going up to my head.I took my BP and I was hypotensive with a pressure of 86 / 52I never felt dizzy or lightheaded .BP is now back to normal and head is feeling much better.
There seems to be a few different virus type things on the go just now.

I was like this last night! I was convinced I’d be waking up today to a full on dose of flu-like viral illness but false alarm thankfully. This does happen to me sometimes though, I get fluey aches & pains, that poorly feeling and the feeling of impending fever - all starts on an evening and then by the next morning I’m fine.

I had this. 11 days of feeling really awful like I needed to stay home/in bed but of course I was working…….
Finally starting to feel like I’m beginning to recover, but nowhere near well.

The razor throat, endless snot, green hard phlegm, hacking cough and nausea and headache were the worst bits!!!!

Me too! Horrible cough which has made my ribs sore, headache, tired, runny nose, sore throat - all most unpleasant. Oh, and I’ve sneezed so many times these last few days I’ve lost count! I’m hoping the germs will push off pdq!

@Theraininspainishere you have described how I’m feeling. I’ve actually resorted to bed - not that there’s a great deal of point because I can’t actually sleep due to hacking cough when I lie down. Also my stomach joined in on the party and well, let’s just say it’s not been pleasant.

I’ve not had any snot but the coughing. I can’t lie down unless I catch a break from coughing and manage to fall asleep. Some guaf- something from USA has a drowsy effect so am now taking that

Started last Sunday with a sore throat. Then the dry cough started Monday. Headache, worse coughing and snotty Tuesday. Now coughing up thick green snot. On and off semi high temperature. Feel sick, headache, tired. Slept 7.5 hrs last night, woke up and blew and coughed up loads of green stuff, had a coffee then was asleep again for another hour less than an hour after waking up.

Ive had lots of ‘false flu’ over the last few months - headache, feverish, achey in the evening but fine by the morning like a previous poster.

I’ve been congratulating myself for the flu jab I had last autumn - because I’ve noticed lots of attempts at flu invading my person over the last few months, which disappear within 24 hours.

But I haven’t enjoyed the last three days spending the afternoons in bed looking at the sunshine. 😡 I also slept surprisingly well and woke up ravenous - but regret ticking the ‘pick up’ option for my coffee beans, rather than having them delivered, as I definitely won’t be leaving the house today. Heavy head, headache, general feebleness. Have binged all of Secret Service (ITV, very average) and managed a few chapters of an actual book.

Just getting over it, nausea and cough/wheezing still ongoing but improving. I caught it from DD2, she and lots of her school friends were off sick with the same thing last week, one tested and it was Covid.

My horrible collection of sudden symptoms have now exploded into full on snot, coughing, voice loss and shivering non stop - as predicted its a super sunny day and I just cancelled plans to meet old school friends (planned for MONTHS) No fever - is the only thing I dont have yet ...FED UP

Obvs - its all going to be a lot better by Tuesday when I am next at work...

Oh - bad luck, @Kittyberry. It’s so frustrating when you have to cancel things you’ve been looking forward to. My meet up with friends is only postponed; any chance yours can be re-arranged? Or done a second time, with you?

Thank you @MsAlignment ; A 're-run' has been mentioned but its taken since January to get a date we can all make - no one is local anymore and in various stages of decline (!) so its unlikely..... so sad...

Yes my ds said he had the worst headache of his life too.

to full recovery it was about 4 weeks. He was translucently white for that period of time - alarmingly so.
