Does anyone have a good tip/ link for how to get her back on track.
An online option for a sleeping aid pill/ gummy?
just to get her back on track after the holidays

Anyone know a good link for melatonin for kids?

Getting up and daylight into her eyes within 30 minutes of waking, eating proper meals at the same time, and regular exercise and mental stimulation, and a bedtime routine, will get her sleep pattern back just as effectively than taking a hormone (melatonin).

Assuming you’re in the UK Melatonin is a prescription only medication so you need to go to the GP, you can’t buy it online (or if you can it is probably a dodgy site!).

If she’s just in a bad cycle after the holidays it’s likely you just need to improve her sleep hygiene. Is she in a good routine with the same bedtime each night? Is she screen free and winding down for at least an hour before bed? Is her bedroom the right level of darkness and temperature? Does she have an opportunity to chat through the day and any worried before bed so her mind isn’t racing? There are lots of things you can do to improve sleep without the need for medication but if none of those things are working then you need to book a GP appointment.

Main thing is just getting her up early every day. Including weekends.

Teen body clocks are a problem! They tend to run late. In my experience it’s a battle for a few years and then it improves.

Thanks all, I already know all this and as she’s been having other issues we have multi agencies involved.

her school head of year has helped massively and we have discussed all of this already. Including the words sleep hygiene

I think she’d have a better chance of doing all this with some help to get her going.

im a single parent and I can’t force her to sleep at night. She has device locks and low stimulation at night but is saying she’s not tired enough.

she has struggled her entire life on and off.

Ive seen threads before where people say ‘other countries let the kids have it’ I just want her to get one good week of school and early nights, early mornings under her
