Is it all mapped out for us?

I know there is currently a thread about what happens when we die which I find interested but I'd like to ask people's thoughts on if you believe in fate/your life being mapped out already?

I don't think that's what it is saying no.

Er, you can expand on that a bit.

God or whatever says, “hey soul, I’ve got this excruciating position going. You’ll be poor, starved, sexually and emotionally abused and then die young with nothing to show for all the suffering but it’s a great opportunity for growth. Want it?”

Soul says, “hey yeah, that sounds fabulous. See you in 5 years. I’m going to be so wise then!”

That pretty much sum up your idea?

Nope and I don't see how anyone can honestly believe it. I know people do but I don't get how.

I know this an old thread, but... I think some things are mapped out for us. But I still think it's possible to take the wrong path.

When I was on my way to meet my first DH (on a blind date), I'd been working in an office full of women who were into Angels and all that stuff. So on my way to this date, I quietly (to avoid scaring my taxi driver) whispered out loud, "Angels - please tell me what you think about this date I'm going on."

I am SURE I heard a voice in my head say, "Turn back now."

But I didn't, and that night I fell in love with him at first sight, and so started the next 10 really miserable years. After we got married, I had the STRONGEST sense that I was living a life parallel to the one I was meant to live. That my "real" life was running parallel to the one I was now living. It was a horrible feeling, really depressing.

I have so many regrets.

yes certain events and people we meet are supposed to happen. However we all have free will and it can cause a ripple effect that can change other things and affect people.

I do believe our lives are destined to follow a certain path.

For example I kept bumping into DH for almost 2 years before we finally acknowledged jokingly we should go on a date as we were "destined" to be together.
We're now married with a baby boy.

We have free will but it's limited. I believe that our Creator knows what our future holds. Also our actions and other things eg. Prayer can change destiny. Of course there is lot we cannot change or control.
