So, I was visiting friends for Christmas, they had just moved into an old house and things weren't fully sorted yet. Downstairs was lovely, they had two bedrooms nicely decorated, a third was partially done but they didn't do much with the two smaller bedrooms at the very top of the house and didntliketo spend much time in them.

So I had bought some gifts and with a house full of people I took myselfup to one of the top bedrooms so I could wrap them privately, my matewas terrible for trying to find her gifts before Christmas morning and we would joke about her looking for them so I thought hidingthem upstairs was a good plan.

I waited for her to be distracted then hurried upstairs to wrap things. I shut the door behind me and, with my back to door (blocking her view of presents in case she came up) I proceed to get wrapping.

Sure enough, about 20 mins later I hear her coming up the stairs, she stopped outside the door and I was laughing to myself thinking she'd be looking at me through key hole but wouldn't be able to see what I was doing. Eventually I can sense her frustration and hear her quietly open the door and her footsteps, slowly trying to creep up behind me.
I finished wrapping the last item and turned around saying" too late! All wrapped up!" And realised that whilst the bedroom door was open, there's no one there andthe hallway lights had gone out.

I was so scared, didn't know whether to stay in the room withthelights on andwith whatever had opened door and crept up on me OR run past it and down two flights of stairs in the pitch black!

The room felt so cold and unpleasant that I run! Later I found out that this was why the uostairswas not used and that her boyfriend had actually felt someone/thing push him down the stairs.

Obviously I didn't go back up there, but it was horrible at night because you'd here footsteps comind DOWN from the attic rooms and passing by your bedroom doors 😱👻
They've moved now thankfully!

Shortly after my grandfather died, my cousin was given something that belonged to him. He said something along the lines of 'I wish I'd known that when he was alive' and at that moment a heavy box fell from a top shelf. No wind or bad shelving, no pets or mice or anything like that. It would have needed a good shove.

Something that bothered me last Sunday.
Was a lovely day so I took the dog a walk.
Out for about an hour and a half. Get back to the house and realise I have left the door unlocked.
Nick up to the toilet, lift the lid and there's a jet black human hair about six inches long sort of draped over the toilet seat.
This was not a head hair, it was from a beard. I could tell by the courseness and the little kinks in its length.
No one uses that toilet but me. Visitors are directed to the downstairs one and even so, I don't know anyone with jet black hair of any type that has been in my house at all.
By bedtime I'm feeling rather spooked but head upstairs anyway.
Pull the quilt back to jump in bed and there's a big damp patch partially hidden by one of my pillows and another down where my feet go.
No smell(definitely not some strange pee pattern), just like a couple of half cups of water spilt.
Might seem like nothing much to most, but I just cannot for the life of me come up with a reasonable explanation for either, but I do know that if I had been murdered in my sleep that hair would've been of particular interest to the officers investigating.
I've got to Thursday so far mind u and my suspicions that someone's in my lift have so far gone unfounded. So far do good..

earthmover that's really scary! Do you live alone? Hopefully your dog would pick up on anything untoward.

Yeah. Live with my dog. Unfortunately she'd be more of a hindrance than a help in the event that the Charles Manson lookalike is hiding in the loft, or has stolen my spare front door key which I cannot find. Although tbh I can't remember the last time I seen it.
I'm honestly pretty good for the most part and don't spook easily but I must admit, when I've heard the odd creak of a floorboard while lying in the dark I've almost had an accident haha.
Genuinely perplexed!

That's a funny one, earthmover.

@mustbemad17 - not sure if you are on Facebook but there is a group on there called 'UK Haunted Married Quarters' there are people on there that have posted about the overseas military houses and their experiences too. Too many to recount, some of the photos on there are very creepy.

I had a weird one happen years ago. I lived with my then BF whose parents had died. His mother had always said that their house was haunted and the odd happenings always centred around water. The bath would be found filling when nobody had done it, shoes would be found full of water, water would drip from the lights and no leak could be found.
The odd happenings went on for years as he was growing up and even after his parents had died there was the occasional slamming door and feeling of unease. I never felt really comfortable in that house.
One day, I was doing laundry and was going up to put away clothes into the drawers in our bedroom. I opened the drawer and all the clothes in there were soaking wet! Not just damp but able to be wrung out. The clothes I need the drawer above and below were bone dry. Immediately I called my then partner and told him off for peeing in there in his sello which he vehemently denied. I went back upstairs and wrung the water out of them and yes, it was water.

I have no explanation to this day in how this happened. There was no leak, water anywhere else but in this drawer. I was so glad when we eventually moved out, it was the longest 6 months of my life.

My dd is named after her deceased grandma. My in laws own a clock that said grandma left to them in her will. It hasn't worked for years. However, last time we visited it suddenly started working.
