I think people are getting confused between 'is there something inherently gay about where you wear a watch?' and 'was wearing your watch on your right wrist something men did when saying outright that you were gay woukd get you arrested if not killed?'

My watch is on my right wrist. I am neither gay or left handed.

I'm sure there must still be signals in countries where it's illegal to be gay, just that they're not needed now in western Europe (I hope).

Now that I think about it, there should be more signals, especially of the sort that you could could pretend that you didn't know about the signal if the wrong type of person takes you up on it. I would like a signal that shows that I'm always up for a gossipy morning coffee, perhaps mismatched earrings could work for that?

Hi guys thanx for your input. I had given my dh a watch (early Xmas pressie). There was a silly code in my schools days. And joking around i told him it was considered gay to wear it on the right wrist. And then he started googling it, so I said i would put it on mumsnet. It was just to settle the dispute as he didn't believe me when I told him id mad it up. I have nothing against gays. I do know what determines being gay. I should do as my papa is gay lol thanx for the input x
