Which jockey skull? Any recommendations?

I am returning to riding (will be doing some lessons and hacks) after a break of some years
I had a jockey skull when I was a teenager, and even though more aesthetically unpleasing than a riding hat, would prefer to get another for the safety reasons.
I don't really like the idea of borrowing one as they are also horribly sweaty
I think I will spend around £50, is there any you would particularly recommend?
I am tempted by this 'Champion Ventair' as my head always used to get horridly sweaty and hot.
But does it really work?
Any guidance recommended?

I've got a Ventair - was out riding for over 3 hours today in the sun and wasn't sweaty or hot. Over 50 quid though

What is RRP cmot, as have seen one at just over £50 on ebay.
If worth it, i might buy [thinking of cool no sweaty head]

TBH the right hat will depend on the shape of your head - I find Champion hats v. uncomfortable but love my Charles Owen one.

My advice would be to get yourself properly measured & fitted and try lots of hats on....decide on the one you want, then go and shop online to find the cheapest deal. You may also find that your local Tack Shop will price match.

Also, an extra £10 on a hat cover will prevent the bowling-ball look

We have champion skull caps for everyday and Charles Owen hats for showing.

DW also has one of the plastic Australian vented hats from when she used to do endurance.

I agree with Cluckykate about going and trying on at a good tack shop first. I'd also tend to buy from them anyway because once you've factored in P&P I've usually found them to be just as good.

After lots of confused googling, have found nearest tack shop and will visit on fri. Thanks for your help.
