My every day general wear boots have had it..am thinking of treating myself to a pair of Dubarrys, have been lusting after them for some time.

..or are the cheaper Dublin imitations just as good??

have been through 2 pairs of tall dublin boots in under 2 years, think they were called 'valley', just plain brown ones

am enjoying my toggi poor girl's version of dubarry, on plus side do not mind at all that they are coated in mud and poo and shavings and possibly worse things - might bother me if had spent £££££ on them

(the dublins disintegrated, soles flapped off and leather cracked)

thats what I'm thinking, might be a bit precious of dubarrys.

have a pair of tuffa boots for riding and every day year, which are great, but hate walking through mud in them.

Ohhh decisions...

but downside of look-alikes is everybody knows you are a cheapskate

but plus side is I don't care

DW's Dubarrys still going strong after about 5 years. However she only wears them out - not when doing the horses - and does clean them and polish the leather bits after each use like shoes. They are immaculate.

I wouldnt. I rode in mine and the inside seams went in about 2 years. Not really designed for riding unless you buy the riding boot which is even more expensive. Have some Toggis now £99 and much tougher. I walk the dogs, muck out and ride in them and as they are much cheaper when they eventually fall to bits I wont mind so much

Ooooh-hoooo-hoooo - I have Dubarrys and looove them. So lovelee & comfy for trudging round the countryside & mucking about at the stables.

Mine are a year old and are lasting well. They're not designed to ride in although I do on the odd occasion. You also need to be careful mucking out in them as ammonia is not good for leather.

As with most products like this the more you look after them the longer they last - my hunter wellies are 5 years old (no I didn't need any dubarrys, I just wanted them ), my Barbour (regularly cleaned & waxed) is now 15 years old and I expect my Dubarrys to last at least as long - especially at that price!!!
