...arrives on Sunday. She will be at full livery in a very competent yard. What is the best way for dd to start bonding with her? How do we help her settle in? All suggestions gratefully recieved!

Seeker, I hope you've made sure red definitely suits her before you go too mad. When my sister got her pony she rushed out and got everything in purple and about a week later realised he looked terrible in it.

I agree, but dd is insistent. I wanted dark blue and silver - dd says red and gold.

I think she'll look good in red - she's very pale grey and very dark eyed.

seeker whispers huffily.

Just picking up on the vet's nose-net comment. I put my TB in one after I thought I would have to retire her as she was such an awful headshaker and whilst it hasn't cured it 100%, it has cured it about 95% so they do work and they are well worth it. The ones I have are Net Relief ones.

Wish you all the best!

Bought a nose net today. Dd hasn't ridden her yet - she has been settling in since Sunday. She's going to have a lesson on her after school this evening - I'm still scared that she will turn out to be a disaster in some way!

hope it goes well - best of luck (though am sure she won't need it)
