..she's been loaning a share of a lovely pony and her owner has suddenly said she's going to move her to a different yard nearer to her house from December 15th. It was a perfect arrangement - the pony earned some of her keep being used in the school, and her owner and us shared the rest. De adores her - she is a lovely pony. And now she'll be gone in 4 weeks. Dd is heartbroken, especially as she got the news in a text she read in the middle of Tesco. I can't bear to see her so upset - I'll have to start pony hunting at once.

Aww Seeker, your poor Dd

It is a bit of a cop out from the owners to tell her like that as well, surely she deserves better treatment than that?

Who was the MNer with a welshie they needed to take out of the training stable?

Hope you find the ideal pony for her!

what a rotten way to tell her

People are mean. We once got left a note in stables we had been renting for ages saying "We've sold the land, please be off in two weeks". It was the middle of winter too.

Hope you can find your dd a nice pony Seeker. Are you looking for a share again or could you manage a full loan? (just thinking how all the charities are saying they are inundated with ponies atm).

Ideally we'd like the same arrangement. Our friend runs the yard/riding school where she was kept, and sometimes used her in lessons, so even though dd hasn't got time to ride every day, she was still getting exercised and entertained (she is a very easily bored pony!). He owner only rides her once a week and works full time. I suspect DIY livery and no one else to ride her is going to come as a shock to both of them.

She's got friends for a sleepover, and she's being so brave it's making me cry, which doesn't help a bit! Every now and then she catches my eye and she looks so distraught....Oh, BLOODY HORSES!!!!
