Yard/mucking out boots

Hi everyone,

DD, 12, is now able to help at the stables one full weekend day. Mucking out, leading in lessons, bringing ponies in/turning them out etc.

She rides another day.

So far she’s just worn her leather riding boots but we need an alternative.

Any suggestions please?

Shes in an adult size 7-8 so they need to be women’s please.

Budget - preferably around £30-50 max if achievable. Her feet are still growing!!

My daughter works full time with horses (mostly riding) and we have six at home. In autumn, winter, spring she wears aigle parcours wellies (sadly not under £50 but they are incredibly comfortable and last for years so cost per wear is very reasonable). In the summer she wears trainers. Always rides in long boots.

Thank you. I wouldn’t mind spending more money in a year or two when her feet stop growing!

At the moment she wears short leather boots and chaps to ride. I’m conscious that her boots will get wrecked quite quickly if she wears them for yard work.

She loves Lemieux so im sure she would love the wellies but at £95 it’s a no for now!

Yard boots that she can also ride in. They are like jodhpur boots but much more robust. If it was October I’d suggest neoprene wellies at a cost but spring is on its way

I always wore Woof Wear short yard boots , very comfortable as well or my Dublin river boots which are less economically pleasing but equally comfortable .

Just go for Dunlop wellies and thick socks, and then her usual boots to ride in. Cheap and durable and won't get rotten by horse wee.

Wellies are a bit too warm for the summer months.
I buy Blackrock dealer boots from Amazon, they're about £25, last ages and cheap enough for me not to worry about mucking out in them.
