Pony pricing

My daughter has lost all interest in ponies so going to be putting the feelers out about selling her. I just have no idea about pricing! Shes a well bred (showing lines)4yr old section A, backed and ready to get going with, good for farrier and all that jazz. Any ideas welcome. Don't want to under or over price her

I follow the horse market more than ponies, but unbacked section As tend to go for £500 max. Proven section As that have the right temperaments to be first riddens and are fantastic family ponies with experience I've noticed can be £4000+. Depending how much yours is doing under saddle alongside showing possibilities I'd say around the £1k mark

Depends a bit, is she show quality or just got show lines? Pretty/a pretty colour? How much has she done under saddle and was she professionally backed, have you got good video of her? Where is the country are you and are you able to show her off to her best when buyers come to view, i.e. do you have facilities and a good child jockey to demo? Depending on all these factors she could be not worth much or she could be worth £4-5k. If you don't think you can currently sell her well you could consider a good sales livery that specialises in ponies, or alternatively if money not the prime consideration maybe try and maximise your network for someone who would offer a good home for a lower price (which I would say is around £2k)?

Backed seems to be subjective! How much has she been ridden and how experienced was the rider?

Professionally backed, not much done under saddle as shes just turning 4 next month. Show quality, shes grey but has socks and a blaze and very pretty (even in her winter fluff) We're in the North West but local (down the road) to a good and very busy riding club. Good facilities and have a rider or two available to ride for potential buyers.

My friend bought a Sec A unbacked rising 4 yold for showing for £2,500 in December. Beautiful pony, it'll depend on whether the show lines have translated in to a show pony with regards to how much £££ imo

In that case you have the option to market her to a show home, her value will only go up though if you can actually get her out into the show ring I would have thought, so long as results positive? No idea of costs on that these days but can you place her with a show producer with the aim of marketing her for sale? I would have thought with a few positive outings under her belt and positive feedback from judges she could be worth in the £4k region so it might well be worth your while investing some money to make that happen?

Or if you're thinking more towards an amateur/ PC home the more she's done the better, getting out and about and let it be known in PC circles that she's on the market, I do think for a child's lead rein pony your options in that market are maybe more limited as naturally most people prefer been there done that types. Not to say someone wouldn't want her, of course not, but you would maybe need to price accordingly?

I think currently you’d be around the £3k mark, the more she does, either as a child’s pony or showing the more value you’ll add
