Best yard boots

I'm after something I can ride in, muck about the yard in & walk the dog.

I've had dubarry for years, but I've no longer justify spending that much on myself.

I looked at the Dublin river boots but litteraly nowhere has them in my size in a regular calf.

Anybody reccomended a country boots for £100 max.

Thanks

My daughter has Rhinegold country boots and loves them. Think they were just over £100

Dublin river boots aren't worth the money. Mine fell apart in no time and I only used them for visiting country fairs with the trade stand, they never went to the stables.

Get Ariats, much longer lasting, also warm and comfy. If you want pull on the windermere is normally one of their cheapest styles.

Another vote for Ariat's, I have a pair and as the previous poster said they are warm, waterproof and comfy. Well worth the money.

I loved my Dublin River Boots - admittedly they did fall apart, but after 5 good, hard years where they were used & abused.

Dubarry are currently on sale - £350 down to £200, but I still think I’d prefer Dublin’s.

Ariat Beaumonts (insulated) riding boots are the most
comfortable, cosy boots for riding, cope well in the mud for yard work, and so long as you don’t mind weird looks are great for dog walking too 😁

My Ariat Telluride yard boots split at the seams very quickly, no matter how much I polish/dubbin. Go through a pair every 6-7 months.

Have a look on Vinted if you don't want to buy full price. I've just bought my dd a pair of Ariat Langdale boots for £85, they arrived and are practically brand new, don't look to have ever seen a yard or a muddy field.

I went for the Ariat Grasmere, bloody gorge! I can ride and looks smart for the school run!

Personally I've given up on ariat as my last pair are completely unwaterproof despite being advised as such, the pair before the sole came away after some pretty light use, the one before that the inner supper of the heel collapsed on putting on so made very uncomfortable to wear. All different style boots. Clearly not made as they used to be. I still have a 20 yo pair of jod boots !

I really love the look of bareback boots but I've never seen anyone with them on to ask if they are any good

Mollyplop999 · 21/09/2024 07:01

Lovethat I have the bareback boots, the slighter shower style with the zip tassels. I absolutely love them and they've lasted very well. My next pair of short boots will he Bareback as I'm on my second pair of Ariat Telluride this year and they are already leaking.

Pleasedontdothat · 21/09/2024 22:11

My dad had a pair of bareback boots last year and they didn’t even last four months before splitting. She rides for a living so is hard on her boots but even so I was not impressed

Dd not dad 🙄

My Grasmere are old now, at least 14 years? I got them not long after they first came out so could be older
I haven't looked after them GrinBlush and they still clean up well and don't let water in

Serencwtch · 21/09/2024 22:17

I've got shires moretta Ariat dupes. I've got the short ones I think they were about £70. I'm on my second pair - the first pair lasted about a year with very heavy use (full time farming/yard work plus lots of walking). Great to walk & ride in.

They do long boots in the range which might be worth a look at.

whymewhyme · 22/09/2024 14:34

Well, my ariats arrived and they have given me a complex 🤣 the standard calf were too tight!!!!

Sent them back to be replaced by the ' full' calf, if they don't fit I will cry! I've not got massive calfs!!!

I look at it as price per wear. I have had by Dubarry's for 12 years. I wear them almost every day, so far that means price per wear is about 9p and falling . A £70 pair of boots that falls apart in 9 months is about 25p / wear ...

I will be saving up for another pair of Dubarry's when I go through the soles of these
