I thought I’d start a new thread seeing as the existing one is full.

@PonyPlaiter oh wow! That’s so exciting! He sounds great! Make sure you show us a photo when he’s actually your’s! What type etc is he?

I’ve had a long conversation about the mare I saw with my instructor. We all agree for the riding part she was hard to fault, but from a management point of view she would be complicated to fit in with the current herd and yard routine, her needs would be very different. it won’t just be me looking after her and the other person will struggle with over 16h.
She’s actually a thoroughbred which for lots of valid reasons wasn’t what I’m looking for.

really glad to have given her a go and the seller was a good contact to make who will keep an eye out for what we are looking for.

Only the second I’ve actually got all the way to viewing so it’s early days!

I had a lovely new saddle fitted to DHorse today. He has changed shape a lot in the last year. It’s so choice - I have the opposite of buyer’s remorse - buyer’s satisfaction?

I definitely will, hes a little cob and very cute.

that’s good that you rode her though - like me it proves that what you’re looking for is definitely out there! Keep looking I’m sure the right one is out there. I didn’t want a big one either because I’d rather feel safe everywhere with my horse including on the ground so a 16hh TB would be off my list too!

I was supposed to be viewing a lovely looking cob yesterday but it feel through. I was really hoping to see a few over the long weekend but it just hasn’t panned out sadly.

instead though a lovely spring hack with Mr Hairy, so I can’t complain!

She looks bigger in real life, to be fair, but I know what you mean.

She’s incredibly nonchalant. All she’s bothered about is frisking me for satsumas. I’m going to call the foal Clementine, as it’s probably pretty much made of them!

No way!! I've been checking back daily in the hope of an update in cute foal picture form.

It’s my birthday today, so she’s under strict instructions to deliver me a gift-wrapped foal.

Indeed. I think she might have given birth weeks ago, and she just kicks it under a pile of hay when she sees me coming.

Is there any limit to the number of clementines you can give a horse - they don't get colic or anything??

I distributed a few past their best strawberries yesterday to the club horses and made a mixture of friends and enemies with them. Lots of really funny faces too.
