Help name dd’s new horse!

We have a new 4 year old who’s just arrived but she doesn’t have a registered name yet. Her stable name is Maggie - she’s a Holsteiner x ISH and is 16 hands of gorgeousness! She’s jet black with a small star and looks like she’s stepped out of a fairy tale. Her sire is Cormint, her dam is Simply Sailing from OBOS Quality and Cruising lines. I’m hoping the MN hive mind can help us come up with something that won’t sound utterly ridiculous when the commentator introduces her 😉

You need to make sure that you don’t use a registered prefix as part of your name unless you have written permission from the prefix owner. The most innocuous words can be prefixes! You also need to make sure there are no other horses in the last 25 years to have had that name already. There are various bodies who will put a new name in a passport, but if she is Irish registered then the passport will need to go back to Ireland at some point.

One of the names that has been mentioned here is part of my new horse’s name, and we went through the process of getting permission for a particular prefix to make it different from the other horses all called the same thing. Sorry to be cryptic but my horse’s name would out me in a nanosecond. 🤣

We couldn’t use Corsair as he’s a prolific stallion and she’s not related to him but the one we’ve chosen hasn’t been used before and is rather lovely!
