Riding trousers!

This page has helped me before so I'm hoping you all can again!
I'm looking for some riding trousers for my daughter, but can't find some I've seen people wearing! They're a looser fit, and like a canvas kind of material. Usually they're black with brown/beige sections around the bum / inner thighs...
I've served for riding trousers / breeches / jodhpurs, but can't seem to find them at all?! It's her birthday next week so wanted to get her some. Please can anyone help??
Thank you!

Men's jodhs tend to be a slightly more loose fit but I've never seen loose fitting for women. They need to be tight fitting for safety. I've never seen canvas ones as I wouldn't imagine that they would be comfy.
Riding tights are very popular.

Your description reminds me of jodhs from the late 1800's- mid 1900's!

You don't want to ride in loose clothing unless you really, really like chafing! There is a reason it's generally tight 😂. Get her a decent pair of breeches.

Another one that's not sure what you mean by canvas style material, I've never seen anyone wear baggy combat type trousers to ride in. Can you find a non Riding picture of the kind of trousers you mean? Riding leggings or riding tights are what all the kids want these days rather than Jods or breeches so that's what I'd search for, popular brands are Aztec diamond, le mieux, pikeur, aubrion. Full seat is the phrase used for the extra/contrasting colour material on the bum and knees.

I think you might be thinking of full chaps? These do have a looser cut than jods because you wear them over the top, and they’ve got a cut-out around the bum so you see the jods underneath?

In answer to the OP, I'm not sure if that's really available, I've not seen anyone wearing what you describe. The normal tight ones can still be really comfortable though.

I've never seen that. My kids wear what are now called riding tights, basically like gym leggings with sticky grips

This is a good shout, full chaps can be really useful although I'll caveat that with saying they're more a practical item than the sort of glamorous thing teens want to wear around the yard. I have an ancient pair somewhere in my wardrobe but I'd never put them on for general riding or a lesson, I only use them for hacking over rough terrain really if we might need to push through some bushes or something for some extra leg protection. The other thing you might see around the yard that fits the bill is waterproof over trousers, something like this? Again I don't think they look great or that ideal to ride in as bulky, but probably very nice and warm for hanging around the yard or working in?

PC Racewear breeches (Little Bit Racey line) are close to what you describe. Fairly loose fitting denim type fabric.

Irish company, not sure if you can order direct from them to UK with Brexit, but I know Glaze & Gordon stock the adult sizes and there might be other UK distributors.

They are lovely, loose fitting but don't chaff, feel more like trousers than sportswear. Haven't gone back to sporty fabrics since my first pair!

Style is matter of opinion obviously, but pretty sure Piggy March wears them in case endorsement is needed.

Thank you for all the comments everyone!
@twistyizzy that made me laugh! I did actually see those when I was searching various words!

She's currently wearing Acai outdoor trousers and thermals underneath because of our lovely winter weather. I'm wondering if the girls I've seen round the yard wearing these type of trousers are yard girls and not riders.
I will look at everyone's suggestions, thank you again!

i came to suggest racewear style ones too. I’ve got some from my late teens/early twenties which was about 9000 years ago and they are still going strong.

@AnAdultCat glad I could help, had a feeling they might have been the ones you'd seen! (Although I've now ended up browsing their website which is little bit dangerous for my credit card 😂)

Icelandic riding trousers are a bit looser fit.

Are they chaps or waterproof riding trousers. I've got some shires ones that have a suede seat.

I worked in racing & so if not the chaps then are they racing breeches. I prefer these to normal breeches as looser & often wear them for endurance. Don't know about kids sizes but have a look at alittlebitracey .

Never seen kids in racing gear so chaps more likely but trends change so if there's pony racers on the yard might be the trend .

Racing breeches don't chafe at all. The opposite which is why I still wear them long after retiring from racing yards.

OP, try Chad equestrian - they became my go to for racing breeches when I was working. Considerably cheaper especially with their sale ones and stood up to a few years of daily wear.
