Planning on going to HOYs on the Sunday. Any tips on maximising enjoyment for 5 adults and two 10 year olds? Which block is best to sit? Planning on getting the B band of pricing so sat quite far back. Would you sit at the end or down one of the long sides. Are there any discounts on entry (other than the group). Thanks 😊

Sometimes some of the magazines have discount codes.
It’s not the hugest arena in the world so being sat far back isn’t a disaster, I’d personally go for a long side.

Take your own food/drink. It’s extortionate in there and the queues are insane
Have a look at what’s on a few days before and work out a bit of a timetable, it’s a good five/ten mins (depending on queues for ticket checks etc) from top spec to actually getting to your seats in the main arena.
The shopping isn’t amazing so I’d personally not worry about blocking out too much of your day for it.

Oh and get there in really good time. When I last went the parking I was directed to took me about 20 minutes to get to the actual building and probably another ten minutes once inside to get to the correct hall. The NEC is absolutely enormous

Worth knowing that the jump courses are intended to be viewed from the hospitality area so I like to go in the triangle shaped bits either side. And then you can watch the posh people in between classes.

There is a weatherspoons pub just as you go into the building, not in the show, if you want cheap food eat there. You can go in and out.

Agree shopping is bad these days, if you want to treat the kids agree in advance what they're looking for eg a new headcollar, lead rope, brush or something. The riding gear is extortionate.

There's usually a mechanical horse somewhere that the kids can have a go on.
