Does anyone know how far in advance of actual move date they can be done?

Thank you!

As close to the move date as possible. My yard requires a clear one within no more than 3 days after getting a negative result prior to coming onto the yard. Any longer than 3 days prior and horse would need re-testing.

So you literally have to test 3 days before? Just seems a bit of a logistical nightmare as I have no transport so need to hire a lorry...if she did come back showing antibodies would have to cancel etc if can't test far enough in advance to arrange everything?

@NotTodayJose no you test approx y-7 days prior depending on how long your vet says the results will come back. Then after you have the results you have 3 days to move.

Oh and yes it is a logistical nightmare when a test comes back positive! The potential new yard should have their own guidelines though? Ask them.

We tested 7 days before. Test got lost in the post on way to lab and needed repeated and vet ended up having to hand deliver in order for results to come back. It was a Devon to central Scotland journey so had to be booked in advance so chance just had to be taken. Your yard might have specific requirements though so you'd need to ask

I’d go straight for a guttural pouch wash if it was needed. It’s more expensive unfortunately (circa £300). The blood test can be a waste of money imo. My horses tested high (both horses had negative result a year prior), and pouch wash then required to confirm negative.
