Thunder and lightening

A late post at 1.55 am but I don't know anyone awake I can contact. My horse is terrified of fireworks, I don't know what he's like with lightening, I'm just worried about him and the other little 2yr old shetland.

I don't want to upset them more by going up now but I'm so worried about them. I have a cctv camera but it's not working tonight of all nights!

I've been worrying about our horses too. Are yours in a stable or out in a field?
I try and reassume myself my telling myself it's a natural weather phenomenon and they have seen and heard it before and were ok.
Mine hate fireworks too.

I think they'll be fine with lightening as its natural weather, and they'll be aware of the weather changing and becoming wild/stormy - not like bloody fireworks that come out of nowhere.

Mine were out in it last night and were fine.

I think they’re better out than in to be honest, they can see what’s going on. One of mine gets a bit stressy in her stable with storms and fireworks, but barely lifts her head from eating when she’s out.

I did feel for them as it rained quite a bit here, but there’s plenty of shelter in their field. I went up earlier than usual to get them in this morning and they weren’t hanging round the gate and pretty much ignored me. Made me walk all the way across their field to get them at any rate.

I live onsite and my lot are fine, usually have a hoon about for a couple of minutes then turn their backs to the rain and hunker down. My OH was scared for the babies last night but no problems.
