Arthritic oldie - magnetic fetlock bands or infrared boot wraps - any one tried them?

Just wondering if anyone has tried either and would recommend them?

My retired oldie is uncomfortable where the ground is so hard at the moment and we don’t really want to give her any more Danillon if we can help it - she’s on one a day, with 2 x 20ml of paracetamol plus a supplement.

I favour the bands as they can be left on 24/7 and used while turned out, where the wraps seem to need to be taken off after 4 hours, plus she hates boots and stuff so I’m not sure we’d keep them on, but I’m open to trying either - if they work

She’s seen the vet, and she’s happy and healthy, her usual cheeky and mischievous self but she’s uncomfortable - the vet is confident she’ll adjust but where we went from soft mud to hard ground almost overnight she’s just having a few problems with it - it happened last year as well

I’m looking at these

www.premierequine.co.uk/products/nano-tec-infrared-boot-wraps

And

www.streamz-global.com/equ-streamz/#purchase

People I’ve asked rave about both - it’s about a 50/50 split

Thanks

I bought the Streamz bands a few months ago for a horse recovering from injury who was quite stiff. I read a lot of reviews at the time and they seemed to come out on top, a friend who is a vet also recommended them.

It is really difficult to say if they have made any difference. The horses does seem to move a bit better but maybe that would have happened anyway.

I got them as I planned to leave them on 24/7 but when I did that they rubbed my horses legs which was the only downside.

Thanks!

I keep umming and ahhing with them.

I kind of think we’ve reached the point with the arthritis that we’re just managing her pain now. I think it’s beyond supplements and all that kind of stuff.

We’ve had some good, steady rain the last few days and judging by the mud she’s plastered herself in today (grey horse problems 😆), the ground has softened up a bit so well see how she goes.

Meant to say - our vet also recommended them, well, not outright recommended but mentioned she tried them on her own horse and had good results.
