Where is good for a weekend riding break?

Please can anyone recommend somewhere for a weekend riding break? It would be for a novice 7 year old and her very rusty and unfit mum (45).

I used to have a horse share which DD rode but who was far too big, but neither of us have ridden since covid.

I think somewhere fairly small whcih could offer DD short private lessons on a suitable pony and for us to do some gentle hacking together would be ideal? Perhaps a horsey farm stay?

It would need to be somewhere in the southern half of the UK, no more than 3 hours drive from s.w London.

Its years since I last did anything simmilar and the places I would have chosen have all closed down. :(.

Anyone know of somewhere nice ( and not ££££?)

thanks

I don’t know if you’d be able to do it together but I think the standard of tuition at Wellington is very very good.
The hacking isn’t amazing but is off road.
If pretty hacking was more important South Wales will probably be a bit easier on the pocket than the cotswolds/south west

Yes I think we might end up in South Wales- I know it well, I have been trawling the internet and there doesn’t seem much closer to home where we can both go together?

Saddle up with the Sandfords saddleupwiththesandfords.co.uk/ can’t recommend this place highly enough. Amazing horses, to suit all levels of experience, lovely people with huge knowledge and wonderful hacks - countryside, sea views...

The new forest has some good hacking centres that cater for all abilities.
