Head shaming horse

I have recently started riding a horse who is a long term head shaker. I’m pretty sure that this is related to the trigeminal nerve (he has the classic signs). He has previously been ridden with a nose net which didn’t make things worse but didn’t really help much. I have been thinking about buying a Shakeaze guard to try. Does anyone have any experience of using one of these?
He’s not my horse so not going to pay ??? for vet investigations but thought I might try this product. It’s only £30 so not a huge investment if it doesn’t work.

I've ridden a horse with an Equilibrium net attached to the bridle, plus a net muzzle. This was only needed for the summer months though, due to pollen & fly sensitivity. This stopped the head shaking whilst riding. There's also a product called Global Herbs Pollen Ease or Pollen X which is available in powder or liquid form, liquid version works quicker and is effective, £36 from eBay. Not sure whether your horse's problem is due to neurological problem though, has the vet been out to the horse?

Yes, it helped a little with the head shaking maybe but increased the snorting so not sure it really helped

I see this and thought of you, do you shave your horses whiskers?

Thanks for all the responses. I have read about whisker trimming and how this can make things worse. He hasn’t had his whiskers trimmed since I’ve been riding him.

However, I have been riding him in an ordinary nose net recently and actually the difference is remarkable. He is so much better. Hardly any head shaking or getting himself stressed so it’s nose net all year round from now on. Can’t believe the difference it’s made!
