I've been talking to KSB Equine about becoming a sales agent (in Portugal so not touting for business!) for their range and was wondering if the horse people of MN had any experience of using their supplements?

Ta!

I've not heard of them - what do they do?

They make seaweed supplements for horses - specifically for gastric problems (ulcers), stressy horses, joint and hoof issues. Until recently they only sold to professional racing and competition yards but are now opening up to the general market. Used by Ian Stark, Mick Appleby, Willie Mullins and others.

My first port of call would be Dr David Marlin, to check out if it's a valid treatment or a snake oil.

Tbh it sounds like something I'd avoid as a vague "cure all" supplement. I'd rather throw money at a vet to fix those issues.

Not heard of them. Good advice re Dr. David Marlin. I only use Science Supplements now.

Here's the boss talking about the products - "fierce value!"

Looks like there's no science behind it doing much and the possibility it may contain heavy metals. It's not something I'd buy.

(I'm someone that used to spend £££ on supplements, now I seek advice from a vet or nutritionist and go with a recommendation from them.)

@PronkWine - thanks for the link to Dr David Merlin, his article on turmeric was good; I use it for one horse with arthritis and another with a sarcoid.
