Family riding holidays

Has anyone been on a family riding holiday in the UK that they can recommend? I was thinking of taking my daughter (8 in January) somewhere for a few days. Before the lockdown, she was having riding lessons which she loved (although she's currently not brave enough to try cantering), and has done some hacks. She also loves grooming. Ideally something where children can do some pony care and have lessons, and the adults have the option of riding.

I love this idea and I’ve recently been looking into equestrian holidays and breaks too. I’ve found this website that covers both U.K. breaks and Europe/worldwide. It’s great that she has a love for it.

They cover a wide area in the U.K. shows locations in the drop down, this particular one is Cheshire.

Not specifically riding, but I’d Grt a cottage on the glen tanar estate and book some lessons/hacks with the riding school there
Amazing hacking, and good walking/cycling on the estate and castles to nose round etc in the area

Wheal Buller in cornwall - I rode there as a riding school when living in the area temporarily and loved it, but they do holidays and people rave about them!

I've used a few horsey holiday companies

www.equestrian-escapes.com and rode at the place in Cheshire that was linked earlier. I'll say it was very well organized, and the riding school in they used Tarporley was excellent. But - as each holiday uses a different independent riding school, things will vary.

www.free-rein.co.uk - great holiday, but unfortunately don't really do much for children/families, I think their lower age limit is 12 or 14.

www.murthwaitegreen.co.uk/riding-holidays - not sure how young they go on holidays.

Can you find her a stables with a Pony club for post Covid times. My DD is having private lessons at the moment but when they re start them they do a half hour lesson and 45 mins stable management lessons and pony club badges.

I had 3 days at wheal buller they have lots of horses to choose from, lots of hacking, lessons, cross-country and beach riding. I enjoyed it there

Divebar - just before lockdown, she was going to move to a stables that has a Pony Club, but last time I enquired they'd cancelled the pony club and were just doing lessons because of covid restrictions. Hopefully it will start up again soon.
