Waterproof boots for those large of foot and dodgy of joints

Hi,

I'm on the hunt for a new pair of yard boots. What are your recommendations?

Please don't suggest Muck Boots as I've had enough of them... They always split within a couple of months!

I'm looking for:
Large sizes (I'm anywhere between a mens 9 and 10 with wide feet)
Must be shock absorbing in the sole due to dodgy joints
Must be waterproof.

I don't care if they're long or short boots.

Thanks for your help 😊

If it's welly type things then I have a pair of Bogs which are waterproof, warm and comfy even if you wear for ages. But no protection from being stood on!

Bogs are the ones like muck boots aren't they? Do you find they last well? I love my muck boots for comfort but they just don't warrant the cost because of how quickly they get holes in! I had one pair split within 4 weeks!

I've had mine for years but don't wear daily so not sure on longevity. I got mine really cheap somewhere because they're flowery 😳But you don't notice when covered in mud 😃 They've kept my feet warm and dry in horrible conditions.

Aigle Parcours wellies - ridiculously comfortable and last a really long time. I just retired my first pair which had done sterling service for 6 and a bit years and am now onto my second pair. They’re great for long dog walks/doing jobs around the yard etc and because they’re quite fitted around the ankle they’re much more supportive than wellies usually are

I have Woof wear short yard boots that I use for dog walking / yard stuff and they are excellent and very comfortable . I’m a 7 but assume they do larger sizes .

I have dubarrys

TARSCOUT · 02/07/2020 17:03

Meindle but get a half size up. They have the benefit of being able to be resoled should the need arise.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I've had woof wear in the past and unfortunately don't get on with them too well, same with dubarry.

Ill have a look at the others and see if my flippers fit in them and how they feel 😊

Hi again!

So today I've tried the ariat telluride boots and also had a good look at others that were available in a 9.5+ (or a 9 if they're super wide)

I'm well and truly at a loss. Nowhere near me stocks parcours as I'd like to give them a go but I need to try before I buy due to foot and joint problems.

In the past, I've found the muck boot style (as in heavily lined with neoprene in the foot and quite shock absorbing) comfortable. I'd rather not shell out £200 on a pair of chameau vierznords as I've found they're quality has dropped too (my mum swears by them)

Are there any other suggestions??

I have the same issue with trainers for what it's worth.... Eventually found mizuno wave riders after tons of research, now I live and die in them but they're being wrecked by the wet grass (and now stink!)

What boots did you end up buying. I'm looking for some boots to walk my dog. I was looking at the Ariat Telluride's. Thanks

I would order some Aigles to try. There's the pull on version and another with a full length zip.

I found mole valley farmers to be the cheapest when I bought mine last year.
