Have you ever had your horse “read”

Springersrock · 27/05/2020 17:01

I don’t know if I’ve finally lost the plot or not, but I was talking to a friend at our yard last night.

She’s had her horse “read” recently by an “animal intuitive” and found some of the information she received quite helpful and it’s actually helped her address some of the issues she was having with him.

We don’t know anything about DD’s pony’s early life. We know that she was in a group of coloured cobs bought by a friend of a friend at a sale as they was destined for the meat lorry.

She has some pretty horrible scars and she is a nervous wee thing so I was quite interested in finding out a bit more about it

DH thinks I’m insane, so do I really, so I just wondered if anyone else had had anything like it done.

I’m curious

Ah ok..... Thought it might be the same one!!

I forget that not everyone's horses are such a bunch of unphotogenic twats like mine 😂

Springersrock · 29/05/2020 16:46
Grin

Mine have resting bitch face in every photo.

Not so much un-photogenic, more rip your fucking face off!!

@springersrock - did you have the reading, would love to hear what happened, please update!

MyBeloved · 02/07/2020 12:04

Oh yes, please post an update. Fascinating!

CountryCob · 02/07/2020 19:54

@Springersrock I think I have had this lady, she was recommended by someone who had help with her cats. I also felt a bit of a plonker, but was going through a difficult time. I did it for loading but in the reading there wasn’t that much about it, he was also going on loan so there was a lot about that. She was spookily accurate and made me understand my horse’s perspective in many ways, I often think about what she said. It was also extremely specific I honestly cannot think of another horse that the things she said would apply to about how he interacts with people and what he values. There is no traumatic past here I have had the horse from very young and it was started well and briefly elsewhere. I am also a huge skeptic and interestingly would never have my own fortune read etc. But with animals there is a limit to our communication and I personally think it’s the horses that are the great communicators but we aren’t the best at picking up the messages sometimes ( I would be embarrassed to admit the reading in many places absolutely not a hippy, not that there is anything wrong with that) will be interested to hear how you find it

Springersrock · 03/07/2020 14:35

Ooh, no I haven’t yet

I’d forgotten about it.

Will have to dig her details out again

I just thought I’d update this as I finally got round to sorting it out

I didn’t use the communicator that I was going to use, I found a different one in the end.

I could ask up to 10 questions, but thought I’d stay vague and just ask if they were happy and settled - I didn’t was to ask leading questions iyswim

I didn’t tell the communicator anything about our horses other than their names. I checked and double checked all our social media accounts, Facebook/Instagram privacy settings and had a good google to make sure there was nothing out there

There was quite a lot of stuff, but the main bits were:

Pony 1 is retired due to arthritis- I didn’t mention this at all to the communicator - communicator came back that pony knew I was worried about her at the moment (I have been), but not to be, she was happy and content, enjoying her retirement and although she felt sore sometimes, she was ok and wasn’t ready to go yet

Pony 1 was a rescue from the RSPCA following severe neglect - she wanted us to know how happy she is with us and doesn’t think about “that place” anymore and that I shouldn’t worry about it - I’ve always been a bit weird about mucking out and making perfect beds as I never, ever want her to remember what happened to her, or worry that it would happen again

Pony 2 - feels she lacks confidence and worries if she feels DD is upset or stressed and felt that DD had been more anxious than usual over the last few months which made her fret, although she felt DD was feeling better recently. (DD struggles with horrendous anxiety, which was worse than ever during lockdown, but has improved over the last few weeks - again, didn’t say a word about this to the communicator). Pony knows that she knocked DD’s confidence with a few silly moments (she did!) but feels that the last few weeks they’ve massively improved together (they have) and that she feels calmer.

Pony 2 knew that her past upset DD but DD was not to dwell on it, she was happy and settled (Pony 2 is covered in scars which have always upset DD).

Pony 2 asked that DD didn’t let her friend ride her again as she didn’t like it - DD injured herself and couldn’t ride for a couple of weeks. Her friend rode a couple of times but was quite rough and yanked on the reins all the time so DD put a stop to it

Anyway, bearing in mind I gave the communicator absolutely no information, there’s nothing online about any of the things she mentioned, it is spookily accurate

Glad you had it done. It's so interesting isn't it! Especially when they tell you things about their past that the communicator had no way of knowing. How have your horses behaved since? One of mine behaved like a pleb for a bit afterwards, one chilled right out but my friends horse was the weirdest. Every single time they rode in the school (so pretty much everyday) she'd nap like mad; once she'd been 'read' this all stopped overnight!

Springersrock · 22/07/2020 08:01

It was really interesting.

I was massively curious to hear what the communicator had to say, but also not really expecting anything, but it was mostly very accurate and some of it quite specific.

I never said a word about pony 1 being retired and nothing about either of their pasts.

Pony 1’s neglect case was in our local press, but her name and photo wasn’t in any of the articles.

Some of it was quite generic - said that pony 2 felt her and DD’s bond took a while but was now really strong and she felt she was a 1 girl pony. But then thinking about it, pony was very tense and nervous for a long time, it took a while for her to trust us and it was almost a year before DD felt they’d really clicked. Pony wouldn’t let anyone touch her face for a long, long time. DD is still the only one she’ll really snuggle her face into and let touch her face all over happily. She is very tense and head high on the very rare occasions DD lets other people ride her. She watches DD all the time, and if the farrier or someone is there she always looks for DD and is quite tense until she can see her.

Communicator said that both girls liked their massages (we had the chiro out a couple of weeks ago).

She said that pony 1 feels a bit left out now that she’s retired so would like to get out a bit more and she misses DD riding her - tbh, we were given such dire warnings from the vet about how bad her arthritis was and that she should never, ever be ridden again. DD has hopped on for a cheeky bare back mooch back from the paddock a few times but we’ve been so worried about hurting her that we haven’t really done anything with her. I did take her inhand to the beach the other day, and I wander down the lane and back with her a lot, but I’m worried about going too far, so will definitely take her out and about a lot more.

It was all very interesting

Meant to add, I haven’t really noticed any change in their behaviour since

@Springersrock did you end up getting it done from a photo or did they come out to visit you? I'm quite tempted to ask for a reading as a Christmas present. Were there any things said at all that were just 100% wrong? And you didn't mention your pony was retired at all, but the communicator specifically stated that she was?

Springersrock · 26/07/2020 09:17

@IAmTheWaiting

Yes, it was a photo reading. I sent their photos, their names, the questions I wanted to ask via email and she emailed me her report back. We didn’t speak in person at all.

I didn’t tell her anything about either of them

She specifically mentioned Pony 1’s retirement. She didn’t specify arthritis, but talked of joint pain and legs being sore

There was nothing incorrect, but there was some vague, filler type stuff - both ponies told her that they loved us all very much - and stuff like that. Given how much was spot on, it was a shame she did that as it just fluffed it out unnecessarily if you see what I mean

OK, so...... I've been thinking of doing this for some time and you've spurred me on. I've looked up an animal communicator also called Rachael who lives in Kent and I've got a 'reading' tomorrow morning at 1015. Will update what she says tomorrow.

LuluBellaBlue · 27/07/2020 18:03

Reading this with interest as I did the James French Animal Communication course and absolutely loved it!!
A friend had originally purchased the course and then couldn’t go on it so I went in her place, otherwise I would probably never have booked it.
I too was sceptical yet when I would do the reading, it was scarily accurate.
To pass I needed 2 vets, plus 2 other animal professionals and scored 98% which was the highest in my group.
I’ve since done it for many friends, family and strangers and despite me still being sceptical I’m able to tell people things I didn’t know about their animals and about themselves Shock

IAmTheWaiting · 28/07/2020 14:03

@LuluBellaBlue what sort of things is it based on e.g. would you be able to tell a horse was retired from looking at a photo?
