Is it too soon to advertise for a sharer?

I'm thinking about looking for a sharer as with a young child I can't keep my horse fit enough for the hacking I would like to do on my own.

Is it too soon after your reduced lockdown restrictions to do so?

I think it is currently a bit yes. Also check your yards rules. I’ve not been able to exercise the horses I get paid to ride as every yard in my area has an owners only rule at the moment.

Yes. I have a livery yard and we have a “owners only” policy at the moment- no sharers, family or friends until we’re further out of lockdown.

Our yard is allowing sharers up so it does depend on the yard, but I think even if the sharer could come and ride, I don't think you'd be likely to be allowed to be there at the same time to supervise/help.

I have sharers and I would always want to meet with them and see them ride before the share starts and then be around on the yard the first few times at least, to make sure everything is alright and they know where to find things, what the yard rules are etc. So unless your yard is being a bit more flexible than both or you have your horses at home, I would wait a few more weeks...

Thanks. I don't think it would be an issue with the yard as family are allowed up as normal and YM has some people that ride for her in exchange for chores.
